EXPLORE YOUR CREATIVITY IN GLASS FOR PRE TEENS

Children will work with real glass to create a variety of projects in a fun and friendly environment. Properties of glass and how it is made will be discussed.
Four Tuesdays: July 6, 13, 20, 27 - 10 am - noon
In this class for pre-teens ages 6-11, children will work on four major projects one per week.
• Using glass bottles, students will learn a new way of “recycling” by safely breaking the bottle and reusing the pieces to create a design that will be fused in our glass kiln to become a bowl.
• Using a variety of colorful pre-cut transparent glass shapes, students will design a glass “suncatcher” that will be fused in our glass kiln and ready to hang.
• Using pre-cut opalescent glass pieces, students will learn the art of mosaic by gluing the elements to a substrate that we will grout for them.
• Using a variety of glass shapes and wire, students will build wind chimes.
• Safety regarding the handling of glass will be an integral part of the class.
•Class size limited to 6 students
PLEASE NOTE: This is the same class being offered in June.
