Wheel Pottery with Alexis
A great wheel pottery class for the beginner, or for those with some experience needing a refresher or to hone their skills.
In this six-week class, Alexis Dillon, an experienced potter and retired high school ceramics instructor, covers basic throwing and glazing techniques with some advanced techniques for intermediate potters. Students learn how to make cups, bowls and other vessels, how to alter thrown pieces, how to make and attach handles and lidded vessels. Class time includes informal discussion, demonstration and hands-on instruction. This is strictly a pottery wheel class. Slab work will not be explored in this class. We feel it takes several sessions to grasp the art of throwing and centering.
The last session will cover basic glazing of your fired pots. Registration includes all materials you will need for class, one bisque firing and one glaze firing.
Classes are limited to 6 students, ensuring a high level of individual attention, and are reserved on a first-paid basis. Sorry, we cannot refund money once you have started the classes.
* In the event the class is cancelled, your payment will be refunded.
Classes are held at Main Exhibit Gallery’s fully-accessible Art Center

You must pre-pay to be considered registered for this class. Full refund if you cancel two weeks prior to start of class; one week if we have a replacement.
