Try Out Pottery Wheel One Day Session

Saturday September 30, 2023: 10 am - 1 pm

Have you wanted to try the pottery wheel, but can't give up the time for a 6-week class? Here's the perfect way to "get your hands dirty" with pottery before deciding if you want to pursue it. In this 3-hour session, Cray Charlebois will show you how to center clay on the wheel and form it into basic pots. You may or may not not make the best looking pieces on your first try, but you will have some creative fun! After the clay dries (several days) we will put the pieces in a kiln and bisque fire them. We will then glaze them (based on your glaze choices) and fire them again. We'll let you know when they're ready to be picked up during Main Exhibit Gallery’s regular business hours. The firing and glazing process takes about 2 weeks.

Your one day session includes:

• Clay
• Use of all tools and equipment needed
• A demonstration
• Personalized hands-on instruction on the day of your event
• Bisque firing, Glazing and Glaze firing

• Ages 14 and Up

• Trim Long Fingernails

• You will get messy, so bring an apron or wear work clothes and shoes that can get dirty

• Leave your rings, smartwatches, and jewelry at home. Main Exhibit Gallery & Art Center is not responsible for lost or damaged personal items.

• Entrance to class is at the lower level rear of the building.

• Park out front or in parking area on Grant Street.

• Payment is due with preregistration unless other arrangements are made. If you cancel the week before the class start date, we will issue a refund ONLY IF WE CAN FILL YOUR SPACE.  We apologize for any inconvenience, but we cannot refund money once you have started the classes.
