Explorations in Pencil Ages 6-12

In this 4-week class for youth ages 6-12, students will learn the basics of drawing in graphite and be given a sketchbook and set of drawing materials to keep! They'll enjoy both group and one-on-one instruction as they explore drawing from life and from photos of their choosing. Clair will cover the use of materials, basic composition, shading, and value, and help each child create one-of-a-kind drawings while also learning a skill they can expand the rest of their lives!

Students are always most passionate about drawing things that interest them! Clair asks that each child come prepared with some objects (stuffed animals, action figures, etc.) and photos that they would enjoy drawing.

Please Note:

• Tuition is due with registration unless other arrangements are made. If you cancel 0-7 days before the class start date, we are able to refund your tuition ONLY if we can fill your space from our waitlist. We are not able to issue partial refunds or transfer your registration to another class. We apologize for any inconvenience, but we cannot refund your tuition once you have started the classes.
• Art is a messy business! Please have your child bring an apron or wear play clothes and shoes that can get dirty with clay/paint/etc.
• Have your child bring a hair tie if they have long hair.
• Please have your child leave their rings, smartwatches, and valuables at home. Main Exhibit Gallery & Art Center is not responsible for lost or damaged personal items.
