Intro to Gelli Printing

With Artist Mary Ellen Raneri

Sept. 20 | 10 AM - 1 PM | All materials provided

Printing with a gel plate is a fascinating process that results in one-of-a-kind, hand-printed pieces with great textures, colors, and layers. You can use this process to make cards, design your own wrapping paper, embellish fabric, art journals, mixed media pieces or works of art that can be framed. It is a fun, productive process. Don’t worry! You can not mess up. LOL.

We will supply the gelli pads, paper, brayers (rollers), and paint. If you have never experienced printmaking, this is a wonderful place to start your journey. Believe me – it’s addicting! Once you get going and you process the information – the ideas flow and it’s difficult to stop printing.

In this class you will walk out with a card you have designed and multiple pieces you have tried in class. Moreover, you might use your work as background, layer, border, or, perhaps in a mixed media project you have been pondering. With our guidance, stencils, texture tools, stamps and found objects – it’s just going to be too hard not to show off your great ideas!

THIS IS A CLASS FOR BEGINNERS. It is a very basic, simple compilation of introductory steps.

Stay tuned for Part Two! There will be another class on October 18th where we learn more about gelli printing techniques!!

Please join us in the process and have a ball doing gelli printing!
